Fan fitted inside Stevenson Screen
Yesterday I fitted a 120mm 12v fan at the top of the stevenson screen, which is powered by a solar panel. And a tube is positioned under the fan and surrounds the thermo hydro sensor with a gap at the bottom. This allows any air build up around the sensor on sunny days to be removed which would otherwise affect the temperature readings. So far today it does seem to be reading more accurate temperatures and they aren't spiking like they used to before.
Photos will be added in the coming days and I will update the about the station page.

Stithians Reservoir Continues to Fall
The Stithians Reservoir, which is just north of Carnkie is now at 60.3% of capacity according to the latest figures from South West Water. This is down 1.9% on the previous week, where it was at 62.2%. The reservoir is now down almost a quarter on this time last year when it was at 83.7% of capacity. The reason for the fall is the dry start to the year. April, May and June only saw 50% - 60% of the monthly average rainfall, with July just hitting the average.

New Stevenson Screen
Today I have decided to build a new stevenson screen for the Thermo Hydro sensor to sit in. This will hopefully give more accurate readings on sunny days. This one has louvres on three sides and a base at the bottom, so the should give better air flow. But only time will tell.
