Summary:

October was a rather mild month, with rainfall below average, with winds mainly from the Westerly, South Westerly and Southerly Directions.

October started rather warm, and many areas of the country recorded their highest temperature of the year. It was was dominated by high pressure, with very little rainfall for the first half of the month.

However the second half of the month was rather more unsettled , with low pressure moving in. 73.0 mm of rain was recorded in just 8 days towards the end of the month. During this period it was also very windy, with a peak gust of 48.9 mph, which was the highest gust of all time (Since December 2009).

October last year:

Last October was slightly cooler. The Rainfall was slightly below this years amount at 89.8 mm.
